Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities confirmed on late Wednesday. The fighter was involved in a car accident near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
His release from the hospital comes as the global fight fans had expressed sympathy for the star in the following the devastating accident.
