Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

Prolific young adult author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, the company has said.

An official for the company stated: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable involving young women.

The publisher did not confirm the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works combined, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
